History: Globe was created in 1946 as an industrial supply company serving the Indianapolis market area. The early products were simply paper products and cleaning supplies. Within a few years Globe became a “general store” for local factories and businesses. The product lines expanded to include everything from mops to riding lawn mowers. It was at that time that material handling products were added to include shelving, racking, and cabinets. Soon, safety and personal protection items were also added.

In 1978 Globe embarked on a new venture as a stocking distributer of Aurora Quik-Lok Shelving. This highly successful venture required additional warehouse space and the company was moved in 1979 from its original location at

546 West Washington Street to 714 North Capital Avenue

in Indianapolis . The new location allowed for additional inventory to serve the growing medical records shelving market that was expanding greatly at that time. New colors were added to the shelving inventory and soon more space was needed. Expansion continued and, needing more space, a new 16,000 Sf. warehouse was built in Fishers, Indiana in 1984 where Globe remains today.

Today, the maintenance and personal protection lines make up much of Globe’s volume. A broad range of gloves, arm protectors, eye and hearing protection devices are stocked for immediate delivery. Both domestic brands and value priced imports are offered with a product for every purpose and market. Globe’s specialty is finding the right product for each requirement.

Globe continues to expand into new markets with the addition of LED lamps and lighting products. This exciting new product line of LED product is not well distributed in the United States and Globe is one of the very first sources for PAR bulbs and high output streetlight LED lamps.
